Class Descriptions

Ballet 

       Ages: 3 - High School    •    Class Length: 30 minutes to 1½ hours
       Training and technique based on the classical positions of the feet and

       body in a system of progression. Ballet is a very slow graceful form of

       dance. Ballet requires turning, leaping and spotting. Ballet is the basic for

       all forms of dance. 

Tap 

       Ages: 3 - Adult    •    Class Length: 30 minutes 
       Teaches rhythmic footwork in both the classical and urban styles. It    

       enhances musicality, rhythm, and motor skills. Tap requires the use of the          

       ankle to get the speed and sound needed to achieve proper tap dancing  

       and get the great tap sounds you hear. 

Jazz 

       Ages: 5 - Adult    •    Class Length: 30 minutes 
       Jazz is a form of dance with free movement and intriquite moves and steps. Jazz

       dancing is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big

       leaps and quick turns. To excel in jazz, dancers need a strong background in ballet,

       as it encourages grace and balance.

Hip-Hop 

       Grades: 3 - 12    •    Class Length: 30 minutes to 45 minutes

       Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music

       or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles

       primarily breaking, locking, and popping which were created in the 1970s and

       made popular by dance crews in the United States.

Pointe 

       Grades: 7 - 12   •    Class Length: 45 minutes to 1½ hour
       Admission by teacher recommendation/approval only.
       Offered to students that have attained the necessary strength and proficiency to

       progress to this level of classical training. Dancing "en pointe,"  is a major goal in a

       ballerina's dance life. Dancing on pointe, or your toes, requires tremendous

       strength of the legs and feet. Many ballet teachers have strict requirements for

       starting pointe work. Beginning pointe classes will be more demanding on your

       body, especially your feet.

Contemporary 

       Grades: 6 - 12  •    Class Length: 45 minutes to 1½ hour

       Must take Ballet to take Contemporary.

       Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of

       several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical

       ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through

       fluid dance movements.

Musical Theatre

       Grades: 3 - 12  •    Class Length: 30 to 45 minutes

Adult Dance Fitness

       Ages: 18+  •    Class Length: 45 minutes 

       This is a 6 week class with three different sessions, each session offering a

       different style of dance. First session will be Jazz, follows by Tap and Hip-Hop.

       Dance Fitness is a high energy group course meant to get you moving! It

       incorporates the endless benefits of exercise and all the fun of dance into a

       program that lets you learn a routine without the stress of performing in the

       show. 

Class Pricing & Payments:

The monthly tuition is as follows:

30 minutes class is $40

45 minutes class is $50

60 minute class is $60 

60+ minute class $65

 

Payment is due the first of each month for that month. After one week has passed without getting a payment, it is considered late and there will be a $10 late fee added to your total. There is a $20.00 fee for all returned checks.  If you need to drop off payment for class or costumes there is a locked mailbox on the side of the building next to the door that you can place the envelope in. Payment must be made by cash or check. Credit cards can be used but will be charged an additional 3% processing fee.
