Competition Team Information

Levels

Our team has three dance levels. Minis, Juniors and Seniors. The Minis are made up of dancers in grades 3-5. Juniors are made up of grades 6-8 and the Seniors grades 9-12.

Competitions

Each competition season our team will participate in 3-4 competitions around the state of Maine, competing against many other studios. On average each age group will compete in 3-5 routines, and on occasion some dancers will be selected for a solo or duet.

Rehearsals

The VSD Competition Team rehearsal schedule is set up to prepare the dancers for the competitions, with still giving you the family time you normally have on the weekends. Rehearsals are every two Sunday's with the third Sunday off.

Fundraising

Each competition season the team will have multiple fundraisers to help curb the costs of the competition fees, costumes, accessories, and props. Some of our past fundraisers include Colley Hill Candle, Coastal Maine Popcorn, a Car Wash and more!

Audition Process

Auditions for the Competition Team take place each year the end of August for grades 6-12. Dancers will audition for each style of dance and chosen based off their technique, ability and dedication. Grades 3-5 are chosen by invitation only by the Vicki's School of Dance Staff.
